Biography

Dr. Todd Vinovrski completed a combined B.S. in biochemistry and M.D. in allopathic medicine in 2003 after participating in the Combined Wilkes University (Guthrie Scholars)/Drexel University College of Medicine Program. As part of the curriculum, he participated in basic science research studying lung cancer at the Guthrie Clinic Foundation/Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.  Dr. Vinovrski also spent time working as a chemist in an industrial setting doing quality-control work. During his combined medical training, he realized his interest in using quality measures along with objective medical data points to better deliver clinical care and chose to explore a residency in laboratory medicine.  It is during this time that he developed an interest in dermatopathology. As many diagnoses hinge on clinical-pathologic correlation, this field seemed uniquely suited to him. Prior to co-founding New England Tissue Issue with Drs. O'Leary and Wilkel in 2010, Dr. Vinovrski functioned as the hematopathology director at Roger Williams Medical Center as well as performing routine anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology services on a daily basis. Dr. Vinovrski was simultaneously active in teaching dermatology Residents and dermatopathology Fellows as an assistant professor with Boston University School of Medicine at the Roger Williams Medical Center training site. He is constantly working on improving the laboratory workflow with safer and more robust quality systems. When away from the lab he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and young son.
